April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4, 1995. When she was in the seventh grade, she started playing the guitar as well as taking piano lessons which ignited her passion for music writing. April Lockhart composed her first track, Different at the age 12 years old. At the age of 14 years old, April was spending a lot of time writing lyrics and perfecting her musical abilities. The songwriting began alongside her father and her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April started to include other subjects in the book, Take My Hand, for the people in her life who are struggling with disabilities, peer pressure or even suicide. Lockhart is a well-known lifestyle blogger and being a partner with clean-cut beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated an impressive audience. Her birthplace didn't come having a left-handed hand, which is the reason she's who she is. It's just not the whole story. Lockhart's profile on Instagram doesn't cover up her disability, but it does not just focus on it. What message is it trying to convey? The message? That we are all multifaceted, and that our identities and physical bodies aren't what they appear. Lockhart talks through video from Nashville. "I don't want it to define my existence. I do not want to be only recognized as an expert in disabilities. The issue doesn't affect my everyday life. I carry on my business as usual and have developed my own methods to adjust. But it's also a part of me and I feel it's important to talk about. Her journey to self-acceptance is one that will last a lifetime, but she is an inspiration with regard to this. She still admits having gone through a series of phases with her physique, feeling insecure at times to wear clothing that displayed the arms of her. She is able to wear anything she'd like, and happily shares pictures of her in these outfits. Self-love for her was a long trip. It's true for all regardless of degree of self-confidence. It is important to have people around you who are aware of and understand you. They will be the ones asking you: What do you fret about?
